Om Mani Padme Hum - Tibetan Incantation - Original Extended Version

The Powers of the Six Syllables

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The six syllables perfect the Six Paramitas of the Bodhisattvas.
Gen Rinpoche, in his commentary on the Meaning of said:

"The mantra Om Mani Pädme Hum is easy to say yet quite powerful,
because it contains the essence of the entire teaching. When you say
the first syllable "Om" it is blessed to help you achieve perfection in the
practice of generosity, "Ma" helps perfect the practice of pure ethics,
and "Ni" helps achieve perfection in the practice of tolerance and
patience. "Päd", the fourth syllable, helps to achieve perfection of perseverance, "Me" helps achieve perfection in the practice of concentration, and the final sixth syllable "Hum" helps achieve perfection in the practice of wisdom.

So in this way recitation of the mantra helps achieve perfection in the six practices from generosity to wisdom. The path of these six perfections is the path walked by all the Buddhas of the three times. What could then be more meaningful than to say the mantra and accomplish the six perfections?"

The six syllables purify the six realms of existence in suffering.

No one can condemn another but oneself,

No one can purify another but oneself ~

  • I am 16 and raised as a member of the Baha'i Faith. I know I want to convert to Buddhism. Can I still believe in God? Because I do, but Buddhism appeals more to me, and I want to practice Buddhism. Although one should know that the Baha'i Faith accepts all religions and messengers of God. It unifies all religions and believes in them. So If one is Baha'i, for example, believes in Jesus as well as the other divine messengers. The unity of God, the unity of religion, and the unity of humankind.

  • @KidShingo ....

One's believe is one's own, believe and you will know,

you will know when you believe ~

  • What's nirvana without compassion? A lonely place I'd imagine. Thank the Lord the Buddha was able to spread such teachings to supply the lack of service toward him. I wouldnt be a buddhist learning such sophisticated medidative techniques without the teachings of christ our saviour ever present in my soul. That's just my belief that no amount of wise cracks is going to tarnish. Life is good. Love is better. Thanks for the awesome music!

  • Can I listen to this beautiful chanting and music the whole day? :)

  • People who learn about the mantra naturally want to know what it means, and often ask for a translation into English or some other Western language. However, Om Mani Padme Hum can not really be translated into a simple phrase or even a few sentences. Such is the way to enlightment. Om Mani Padme Hum.

  • @junior81461 om mani padme hum: Dios, sabiduría, es el mantra de la humildad uno de los mas poderosos, mantra de la compasión.

  • The body of own is the world center of the field territory domain area that expand and spread out.

    自身の肉体こそが広げ広がった領域の中心であり世界の中心なのだ。

  • @junior81461 OM MANI PADME HUM: Significa "la joya del loto que reside dentro" Mani Padme representa la joya del loto, la sabiduría esencial que incardina las enseñanzas budistas, la esencia divina, mientras que Hum representa la realidad sin límites encarnada dentro de los límites del ser individual. ASí Hum une lo individual con lo universal.

  • thank you for sharing

  • He aprendido algo valioso.

Confiar en las personas es natural; desconfiar de ellas es forzado.

Son los actos de los otros quienes subyugan nuestra esperanza en ellos.

Uno mismo quiere y busca confiar, mera inercia.

Las mentiras y desplantes de los otros ocasionan que empezemos a tomar en cuenta que quizá no sean reales y, ante prontas promesas, les otorguemos el maleficio de la duda.

Pero tengamos fe. Elijamos la naturalidad así nos fuerzen a la artificialidad.

    Sigamos confiando.

  • its absolutely beautiful. thank u so much. completely puts me at ease and a wonderful feeling of joy all around me. blissful.
