No problem, on a related issue, make sure your vitamin D levels are high. 85% of African-Americans are deficient and it can cause a wide range of conditions including hypertension, diabetes, and bone disorders. I don't know if it impacts on sickle-cell, but it has so many other benefits (including raised immune function). The dose you need is around 1000 IU for each 25 pounds of body weight daily.
Search Vitamin D here on youtube.

Wow how do you get by without meds? I have to take them several times a day to keep my pain at a level I can tolerate it. I am never without pain!

Thanks 4 sharing ur story. I'm just like u living with it, but I haven't been admitted in the hospital in almost 3 years and I rarely have a severe crisis that usually can be controlled at home. Best wishes to u
There is strong evidence that the crises are caused by the absence of a set compounds called Nitrilosides.
They are abundant in African diets, where sickle cell is common but crises are not.
Foods containing Nitrilosides include:
Cassava, Yams, Millet and seeds from most fruits.
Apple, Peach, Plum, Prune, Blackberry, Strawberry, Pear seeds contain high levels.
This substance protects against cancer as well. Include them in your diet and your problems could be over.
God Bless You

Wonderful story, excellent video editing as well! Wow... honestly I feel so blessed right now to have come across your story. Here's my sad tale... I have SS and this past year I have in been in the hospital every month, yeah every month. I am really depressed about it bcuz life wasn't always like this for me. My entire college career of 4 years went by with only maybe 3 hospitalizations. I graduated college in 04. In 2008 was laid off of work and since then I've been in SS pain crisis level

No, fortunately I don't. But I have had my share of pain and suffering. That's how I know that the information u've so generously shared can be applied to other conditions as well as SC.
