http://www.FilutowskiEye.com | IntraLASE is the first blade-free LASIK technology for performing the first step of the LASIK procedure:
creating the corneal flap. Prior to IntraLASE, the first step was done manually by using a handheld device with an oscillating blade, called a microkeratome. While LASIK has proven to be a successful and relatively safe procedure, the majority of complications with LASIK arose from the use of microkeratome.
IntraLASE creates a more precise corneal flap utilizing computer technology.
Additionally, patients in clinical trials preferred their vision in the eye treated with IntraLASE 3 to 1 over their vision in their eye treated with a microkeratome.
