To be fair, however, his assists today would also be higher than they were counted in the 60s.
His three-point shot would be something too, he'd likely have scored more than he did in his day.

I'm a big fan of Luke, some great clips of him here.
Also some very generous comments. While Luke could definitely play in today's NBA, the NBA of 1966 is much different than the NBA of 2006. Today, there is lower scoring, fewer shots tried and fewer rebounds per game. His rebounding totals would be lower today, as it would for any player from his era.
The numbers are not the story. It's his great all-around game, skills and intelligence, which made him great even then.
