Four of the five auto makers selling the most cars in the program are foreign. But Los Angeles Times reporter Martin Zimmerman says that doesn't mean the American economy isn't benefiting.
Although some foreign cars are manufactured in the US and American workers benefit. But the profits are sent overseas -- OUR tax dollars! Our taxes should benefit our own economy, not theirs. If we don't support in our own domestic businesses, we hurt our economy, and ultimately ourselves while we cry about jobs going overseas. And we complain about our dependence on foreign oil. If our auto business disappears, we won't have a choice but to pay whatever price the foreign companies charge.
