Next week 8,000 Jewish settlers will be evicted from the Gush Katif settlement. Israeli journalist Nurit Kedar has spent the past eight months living with them.

"I hate the settlers. I feel like they're a bunch of ticks that are slowly, slowly sucking our blood dry," states Nurit's friend, Orna. "They're just vandals and barbarians." When Nurit decided to move to Gush Katif and chart the last months of the settlement, her friends reacted with horror. It's deeply unfashionable in Israel to defend the settlers. "We are a thorn in the side of those Tel Aviv types," states Liat. "We will not give up on our way of life." But she has no choice. Recently, the army erected a wall sealing off Gush Katif from its supporters. Every night, the soldiers guarding the fence face a torrent of abuse from children. "Come to my home and see my parents. They're crying. We're all crying. You're destroying my life," cries one little girl. Albert and Sylvia have lived in Gush Katif for over 20 years. He spends all his time gardening, even though his beloved garden will soon be destroyed. "It's over! Understand that!" chides his wife. "What's the use of all this gardening?" Neighbours Shoshi and Effie still maintain they won't go. "It's our religious belief. We're staying here."

Hmmm, ok we give shitloads of aid to Israel and basically funded the expansion of these settlements, then we funded the $400K payment per settler family to leave, all so that they could just destroy the property and waste it rather than let someone else use it to prosper. Brilliant.

Sure we allow 1.5 million of them to live with is in Israeli lands but they want no Jew living in the so called "Palestinian land" When we built our own homes why the heck would we give it to the enemy who has come to try to destroy us and cut the throats of our babies while we sleep. According to the narrator at around 9:40, these Jews are leaving brutally. Really? Really??

I think it's shocking that these people are told to leave while being compensated $400000 and complain about it. Do they not think about what their way of life has done to the Palestinians? Totally self-centered... And then the nerve of the Israeli government bulldozing all the American-funded houses. Why not let a Palestinian family live there?

The settler houses were really nice, i think most israelis now reget the disengagment plan,the settlements were really good because they protected Israel from attacks by palestinians

d ıf they wanted to lıve somewhere they dıdnt have to go to Gaza.Palestınıans lıved and bled for that land for hundreds of years.
