@jazzbass1969 Check out KCSM Jazz SF 91.1 you can listen online.

the best trio of that era

@AlexRiel, your interaction between brushes and hi-hat is exceptional here. I've recently become aware of you're playing, and it is great to see classics like this! Did you ever record Nardis with this trio?

@japa1990 for sure Lafaro revolutionized jazz bass, but he was more creative then technical. Gomez isn't revolutionary but is technically superb and has amazing phrasing. Fucking love Eddie Gomez.

What a bass solo!
Reminds me Stanly Clarke.

Great video. Sounds like its from a year after the Portrait album. So its like 50 years old. Riel is a great drummer. I think he plays here as good as anyone who played with the great Bill Evans.

I'll admit it- he's been my favorite for over 40 years. I will always love Bill's impressionist view of Jazz.... Bill"s music should sent into outer space so if there is anyone out there, they'll know what beauty and genius are....
Let me assure you .. this IS Eddie Gomez! ;o)

damn I miss Scotty. Trio sounds great with eddie but I mean, evans, motian and scotty were as tight as a small shirt on a fat guy.
