What if 2001 had been made a dozen or so years earlier? I used images from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsVD11FE3oQ&feature=related to recreate the famous shuttle/space station docking scene with Strauss's "Blue Danube".

The fifties sci fi were very beautiful in their abstract look...paintings come to life...at least the best films were.
