  • Wow! I never heard Mark's version and it just blew me away! Why wasn't it a smash hit? I just cut this for CBSEye and i would be happy if you looked at mine. My version is closer to the Elvis''69 arrangement. But Mark's is great! Thank You. - Jersey Guy

  • this is the 45 VERSION OF AND THE GRASS WON)T PAY NO MIND IT IS A GREAT SONG

  • Hard to believe this song is 41 years old. I was only 14 years old when I used to listen to it but I remember feeling so touched by it, it's so beautiful.

  • I found a copy of Mark Lindsay's Silver Bird album at a Record show recently and the album version of "And the Grass.." is different - has a slightly different arrangement. Given the label above, I assume the version posted here is the 45 single release? - can someone verify this? Either way, I think Mark Lindsay has the definitive version.

  • Great1

  • You just cannot beat this kind of music

  • Still like this version the best. Not to say the one by Mr. Diamond is not good this one is a little softer and easier to listen to.

  • pintoboy...you are exactly right. loved Lindsay's version much better.

  • I remember the first time I heard this song. I was riding in the car with my Uncle Salo in his new Lincon and he was listening to KNX FM In Los Angeles. Back then it played easy listening. The next day I walked into the furnature store on Washington Bl. in Culver City just so. of the old Culver Center.I

remember walking up to this hot chick that was working behind the counter, she kind of reminded me of Liz Diamon (1900 Yesterday) I ask for the single and she pointed to the album "Silverbird"

  • I totally agree with azitaliana! I have been a Mark Lindsay fan from the Paul Revere & the Raiders days! He rocks & a hellva nice man!!!
