Subaru Alliance #33
Impossible Axle Nut
Impossible Axle Nut. After repeated attempts at PB Blaster and a propane torch, we finally had to resolve to a length of Subaru exhaust for leverage on our breaker bar.
Join Miles Fox, the self-documenting subject of documentary film, on a 2 week adventure of relocation from a dead end town.
This is a video series from over 57 hours of video over the span of 2 weeks consecutively, Miles Fox skips state from Indiana to Wisconsin. From tooling around to resurrecting junk cars to going off road to the Hot Rod Power Tour, a lot of fun stuff happens in these 2 weeks.
good job. mechanics always overtighten. air impact wrenches have really screwed over the next person that wants to service the car, usually the do it yourselfer.

@ subaruworld The white wagon was a Loyale 5spd 4x4. after I swapped the EJ22 into this impreza the wiring harness took a dump and it got junked while i was in basic training, so both are soobs ended up in the junkyard. ;-(

LOL
1. Put tire back on.
2. Lower Subaru back to ground
3. Set E-brake
4. Jump up and down on end of breaker bar trying not to fall on you ass.
5. Drink beer you done.
Oh and use Deep Creep. Best stuff I have ever use for freeing rusted stuff.

Can't believe I traded straight up that green Impreza wagon for that piece of junk white wagon! The white wagon (I think it was a GL-10) has since been junked, but it looks like the Impreza is still going! If I wouldn't have sold that GL-10 for 2000.00, I would be bitter! :)

This same thing happened to me on my jeep wrangler, one of the threads to my disc(the ones that hold the tire on)fell through and I had to remove that nut, took a rental of a socket set to get it done. I eventually bought a 36mm socket to get the job done. I did use PB and an adjustable wrench though, but alas, this failed.
