Battlefield 3 - M249 Suppression PS3 Gameplay Highlights

I've been toying around with support class and the spray and pray method of playing. Once you find a good spot you can lay down suppression fire and really help your team move in to a good position. Usually you'll cause enemies to go prone and stay put instead of advancing forward and often you'll end up killing them which is a nice bonus.

My current M249 stats:
Kills 160
Headshots 41
Shots Fired 17,847
Accuracy 4.8%

BTW this KILLS your accuracy lol.

How close to the enemy do u hVe to be shooting to get a suppression

Hahaha, your teammates don't seem to care you're pumping 800 rounds down a hallway and decide to walk in front of you. Happens to me all the time, it's fucking annoying, can't see shit when they do it.

@hock3ydud3 Yeah. Non squad members don't seem to realize that they could step out and get free kills since everyone has their gunfire focused on me either.

I noticed u hip fired quite a bit, is that more effective than aiming down? with this particular gun obviously.

@evilltorb I find hipfire to be very good in this game. The only downside is that on guns with smaller magazines you might hit the end of the mag before you kill the person. Obviously this isn't a problem with the M249 (with extended mags especially). One reason I'm hip firing a lot is because when I ADS I end up gripping the controller too hard and hitting prone which throws me off. I'm in a much more relaxed position when hip firing for whatever reason.

I tried to get the Supression Ribbon and i had a really hard time getting it.. ! But i finally got it when i played Team Deathmatch on Tehran Highway. I just sat on the rocks/hill/mountain in the one end and fired my M240B like a crazy man at whatever moved... Try it if your having problems as well...

I still need 18 more suppression assist to get the mg36...getting about 1-2 per game sadly...

@Shawn11986 use a sniper class use the mav to locate enemies and let your teamates know where they are at, and shoot them but dont kill them and u should be able to get it, also do it in either rush or conquest since it takes longer for a round to be over
