I consider abortion to be murder because abortion is only successful when it has ended a unique, defenseless and innocent human life. Of course, you could argue that murdering helpless innocents is good, but I won't.
If there was a disease that caused victims to pass out for a known fixed period of time and awake with total amnesia, it'd be murder to kill them... so is abortion.
Laws should not be based on viability. Events like brainwaves and learning can occur before viability.
Good point, my good man. However, the fact that he or she favorited "The War on God in America", a fantastic example of religious right persecution complex and paranoia, pretty effectively indicates religious motivations. I won't condemn the FSM, however, as it has balls and offers a beer volcano. :D
I actually don't see anywhere in his comment saying he was religious. Please do not jump to assumptions and do not condemn my god, the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
As for Lilly Ledbetter, I could think of a few better ways to go about avoiding wage discrimination, but none of them are really easy to do right now, or very practical. So, I suppose I'll have to settle for it. :/
The gag rule is still too categorical in its approach. It revokes funding from all places that perform abortion, which despite your silly religious delusions, is not murder.
Now, I would agree with your condemnation of singling out females for abortion. For a clause prohibiting that methodology to exist would be fine. By your argument, I suppose wage discrimination means we should embrace totalitarian communism?
The Lilly Ledbetter bill is just a gift for trial lawyers because it doesn't do anything to either identify or stop the actual discrimination. A correct response would've been legislation that required transparency when it came to wages so Lilly would've found out immediately and had her issues addressed, not denied 19 years later. Periodically releasing and recording wage information would do much more to prevent discrimination from happening in the first place, even if it'd be uncomfortable.
Dancing around because US taxpayers will now fund the murder of babies again is just sick.
This has nothing to do with feminism. In most countries it is the baby girls who are singled out to be aborted or murdered immediately after birth. India is "missing" girls because each year about 500,000 more girls than boys are aborted or murdered once they're old enough to have their gender identified on an ultrasound. Funding groups who will help others kill girls for being girls isn't feminism.
It's about public aid, as I understand it. Specifically, it prohibited any non-governmental organization receiving federal funding from promoting abortion or performing abortion. Even from a libertarian perspective that deems the funding itself illegitimate, I think we can agree that if you provide the funding that is unreasonable discrimination on the part of the government.

Hmmm... I never thought of semi-stalking those who comment on my videos. Thanks for telling me how you do it!
Also, a smart man never refuses a good beer volcano. Good choice.

Is the gag rule about public or private aid?

Question about the gag rule. By US aid are you referring to public or private aid?
