@yetidoc The answer was very simple. I knew that the media's depiction of Muslims was grossly innacurate.

Plus, at the time that I became Muslim, I had not been watching a lot of news. Even if I had, it would not have changed my views at all.

no problem! and i mean it when i say its nice to see. i admit i dont aggree with everything that you belive in but im not against religion i thinks that most religions are good and i agree with lots of things like respecting yourselves and others and being kind to each other. i think that some people have assumptions about religions , atheism and islam are examples of that. i find that often when people know i am atheist they assume i have no morals or respect for others.
