A fascinating character featured in the 2009 movie "Angels and Demons", Camerlengo Patrick McKenna (aka Carlo Ventresca in Dan Brown's novel) portrayed to perfection by Ewan McGregor. Hans Zimmer's score could not be more fitting and creates an atmospheric undertone to what is, essentially, simply another well thought-out heroes and villains story.

  • I meant the dress of Monsignore like Camerlengo have to be pink belt and pink buttons.

I don't know why in that film Camerlengo as Monsignore didn't wear the properly dress. Anyway, i like that film a lot and thank you very much for that video!

    You Bravo.

if you want see the correct dress for a prist like Camerlengo in vatica city just find on google immages "TALARE MONSIGNORE" IS THE black dress with pink belt...

Oh I see, sorry, I wasn't aware of that. Interesting fact, thanks for telling me. Shame they didn't research this better for the movie... Great movie though, indeed.

  • il monsignore comunque nella Talare ha i bottoni rosa...

Monsignore's dress must have pink buttons on it

  • @premikasutra

What on earth do you mean??

  • what is this score called? i know that this is basically a different rendition of chevaliers de sangreal, but i like this version better and wondering where i can download it

  • @imhellahi

Hey, it is from the soundtrack of the movie (would have to check on CD cover, but think is last track on the album), and, yes, it is very similar to the score for Da Vinci Code. Love this piece. Trying to perfect it on the violin myself :-)

Not sure where you can download it, but why not download the track from this video directly? (DVDVideoSoft)

  • The camerlengo is a fascinating character. One of my favorites of all time, really. He's both good and evil, wise and ignorant... He is the classic tragic hero, though not even a hero in this sense... I can't quite describe it. But it's brilliant. And I'm a bit disappointed they changed the ending so much between the book and the movie. The book was poetically perfect for the idea.

  • I find Ewan's character very unique. Partially because he managed to morph himself into the character and portray him beautifully. And the other part is because of the parts that his character plays. He is a hero, but also a villain. He is cunningly brilliant, but yet ignorant of his ways. Shows that even the holiest of people can fall to the sin of greed. His character is very powerful, isn't it? And makes you rethink the things you did to gain your needs.

I noticed that too but I suppose been in all black made him look more evil (though I wish he had been good)

  • @Pterygomandibular It is 'Chevaliers de Sangreal' from Da Vinci Code. They re-performed it with a different sound, yet the same piece. As always, beautifully done with the cello.

  • HE WILL SAVE US FROM THE ILLUMINATI AND THE NEW WORLD ORDER...

THE FORCE IS STRONG IN THIS ONE

  • OBI WAN!!! Haha, I'm sorry. I love Ewan. I also loved the Camerlengo. I loved him reading the book as well as in the movie. Even if he did what he did, it didn't change how fantastic of a character he was.

  • i'd like to have a dress like this
