I am new to cast nets. I have used mine, but I wasn't for sure if it is best to let it hit the bottom or if its less than 3 feet to pull it almost immediately? I was watching a school of shad and they were near the surface, but wasn't for sure if I would catch more by letting it sink to the bottom or just ripping the net in right after it traps the visible shad.
