Fibromyalgia- my fun blog--- some weeks are better than others.

Hello! Here's my latest video blog. It's been an "interesting" week, full of emotional ups and downs. After seven months of work, we actually won the California Distinguished Schools thing, but, it didn't really seem to matter anymore because my brother, Mike, was in the hospital, his lungs filling with fluid, and we didn't know if he was going to make it. I was really scared we were going to lose Mike this time.

Mike has a very rare form of spinal cancer called chondrosarcoma. His first incidence of chondrosarcoma was ten years ago, and the cancer wound itself around his spinal cancer. Since then, it has come back several times, in different vertebrae, the ribs, and three times in the lungs.

Last month, the pinkie on his left hand started going numb. His doctor immediately made him get an MRI, and sure enough, there was another spinal tumor-- this time on his upper neck. He's had three surgeries in the past three weeks, and he's going to have another one tomorrow. He couldn't breathe on his own last week, and had to have an emergency tracheotomy.

I stayed up most of the night for several nights in a row. I felt like if I fell asleep, he would slip away. Even though he lives in Manhattan, and I'm in California, I just felt like I had to keep watch over him. So, I just stayed awake. I can't really explain it.

Fibromyalgia-wise, I'm doing fine. I've been exercising a lot, and I'm a firm believer in exercise for fibro.

Someone who reads my blog told me about something new-- a website that talks about combining the Guai Protocol with Iodine. The more he told me about it, the more intrigued I became, so I checked out the website, (fibromyalgiarecovery.com). There are some monstrously long PowerPoints on there, (like 90 slides each), and wayyyy too many links to supplements, (I'm opposed to the commercialization of fibromyalgia.) But, I was definitely intrigued by the concept of combining the Guai Protocol with Iodine.

So, I talk about that in the second half of this video. I mistakenly called the product "Iordol." The proper name is "Iodoral." It comes in other brand names as well. I've also heard it called "Ludol's Solution." It's just Iodine, so I imagine you can get it in any number of places, from numerous manufacturers.' (I purchased some through a breast cancer website.)

Hi Devon- Thank you so much for the positive thoughts and prayers. I am a firm believer in the power of prayer. I became a much more spiritual person after fibromyalgia entered my life. I think God throws challenges our way to open our eyes, re-prioritize our lives, and get us focused on what is truly important. Before going into the hospital, my brother said: "It is not how many breaths you take. It is how much you make of each breath that counts." Amen to that, brother.

Thank you so much, Neon. My brother is such an incredible guy. He was text messaging me yesterday from his hospital bed. They are going to try to take out the intubation tube today, but he had to stay in the hospital overnight first, to check his oxygen levels. He was a bit bored, so we were texting back and forth. He always has the most amazing attitude, no matter what he has to endure with his cancer. I'm lucky to have him as a brother. He really is an extraordinary human being. - Diana

Hi Diana. Bummer about your brother...have you even had him take the guai as a catalyst for cleanse of the cancer? My friend is going to try it. It has always been my belief that cancer is 'late term' fungus deposits which the guai helps a lot. No harmful effects to trying it. I will keep you informed on my friend's results using it for her lymphoma? cancer. The Doctor options she is receiving are horrendous.

I am BETTER with fibro. on the guai. 16 days in at 600mg. AM and 600 mg. PM.

Hello, How are you doing? I am sorry to hear about your fibromyalgia. I will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I was very curious how your brother is doing? My father was diagnosed with Chondrosarcoma on his spine 4 years ago. 13 surgeries later he is still fighting. But we were told that we can not do any more surgeries so we are kind of at ends rope. He just recently lost all feeling from his mid stomach down. Confined to a wheelchair, we are hoping & praying for him. Any ideas?

I have had fibromyalgia for six and a half year. I figured out the magic bullet to make 100% of my symptoms dissapear. It's simple, eat sunflowerseeds! No more doctors, prescription medication, supplements, bending my life to fibro. I also drink about 1/4 cup of sunflower oil a day.
