Back by demand, more of the early version of the 1985 game show Break the Bank hosted by the great Gene Rayburn. I will post an entire episode bit by bit. This one is from September 19, 1985 and you are about to see the opening segment. Enjoy.
@jhshifris No, the producer of this show was Richard S. Kline, a longtime friend of Jack Barry and producer for Jack Barry Productions and the revived Barry & Enright Productions. After Jack Barry passed away, Kline and other staffers did not like the direction Dan Enright was taking the company and the former Barry shows. (After Barry died, questions on "The Joker's Wild" had been dumbed down considerably as Enright was pushing for bigger prizes and ratings much as he did with "Twenty One.")
This will never be on GSN because Gene didn't want this seen anywhere again when he was around. And, when you mean by Richard Kline(that produced this), is that the same one that was on 3's Company?
@jhshifris Kline then left Barry & Enright with most of the Barry staff to form his own company, Kline & Friends.

The "word reveal" sound effect and the "seconds added" sound effect is from Strike It Rich.

@Sonic3000 I'm sure they used at least the same monitors.

This could have been a great show had they never had Gene, or even better, have Gene do his thing a bit.

That sound effect was also used on Tic Tac Dough (2:00).

Well personally, I like the Joe Farago version than Rayburn's.
I liked it when it was serious.
Gene was made for Match Game, but not for this.

The funny thing is, theoretically a couple could win the game (2 out of 3) and enter the vault with.......10 seconds. LOL
