@NellyNutmeg yes it is. I agree the ones you named can do soul, but that something special, that particular sound, those warm voice...you gotta be black to sound like that.

@mikemio1 It's not about color. It's about soul. Van Morrison has a soulful voice. As does Adele, Dusty Springfield, Joe Cocker, etc.... I love Otis.

Otis Redding is in a class by himself. His music, voice, instruments and delivery surpass anything that others try to do. Once in a very long time a gift such as this comes into the world. How wonderful that Otis Redding lived and gave us such a gift. Such creativity is unique.
