I feel your pain! Kudos to you for putting in so much effort for positive change!

Well, well, well. Heiferman responded to this. Look up the video titled "to edmond"
But the dude refuses to apologize (after all, he's a CEO and CEOs never apologize), and he gives Edmond empty praise and empty platitudes. All the while sounding extremely immature. Another fail.

Oddly enough my website (below) is done in Wordpress. Though I'm a newbie but I felt a point needed to get across too. You even got a reply! It's promising but the sad thing is that we know Scott has no intention of making any effort to change back. I think we all know that.
Thank you for your voice - if you feel it inapropriate please do delete my "sort of link" post below. Won't hurt my feelings, I wanted to express my support and respect.

Thank you! Well said.

I have 3 groups on Meetup & started 2 groups from 0 on meetup.com and also feel slightly used.
My face, information about my groups, my engagement process, my brand was burried or stripped with the update. And I am paying $144 / yr to Meetup.com for for using this platform.
Twitter has some hashtags (#) dedicated to this platform change. One of them is #newmeetup. Just type that into the search bar and you will see comments and links from others.

Everything -- and I mean EVERYTHING -- about this site overhaul was badly planned, badly managed, badly executed, and above all, completely unnecessary. Meetup has ruined its site, plain and simple. And in the process has pissed off a WHOLE LOT of people.

Scott Heiferman you need to see this! Listen...Scott...if you can teach your company to do one thing please teach them to listen.
Nice job with your group. I've worked several years to make a 5 star rating for both of my groups...one swing of the bat it's gone...all gone.

I love the video. And you are an inspiration on how to build a group. They just don't get it- how a great group is formed and maintained, and just human psychology. You can't force people to participate more in groups with software. It happens on the human level (and still you can't force people).

I agree with you. Star ratings taken away is horrible. I run photography classes through Meetup and they took away the pictures on the home screen which was my major marketing pull.... obviously! I just started my group in April. We've had over 130 meetups with a 5 star rating too! We are all mad but MU is not listening. The founder is attending Meetups in NYC about what's going on in Egypt! They don't care about us. we need to organize together and find another platform that cares.
"Helped Plan" is a total slap in the face!
