@hlmacwell1985 LOL you can tell you went to FC..... Wait, so did I... :( HAHA
I was a soph the first year of the new school, spent a lot of time in the old one for sports and what not however.
It was tore down because of the condition, it was not suitable to participate in school or other activities. Ths is why it isn't used as anything else.
hey there, ur not da only one or da only class da went there. i went there too, and matter of fact my class wuz da last graduateing class of da old Franklin County High School, which wuz da Class of 2004. and i do miss dat place alot. they shuldnt of ever tore it down. they culdve used it for sumthem. at least kept'd as a land mark or turned it into sumthen for our community or for our kids or grandkids. i do take that rite there personal. ive got alot of great memories there.
The old elementary and middle schools I went to in Indiana were built in the 50s, and were in different towns. They used to be the high schools of the towns they were located in, but when the entire southern part of our county became one school system, they were changed. As the same problem with the FCHS, classes got bigger and the school got smaller, so they had to build anew. Both schools were tore down last year and was a sad site to see, but the memories made will live on forever.
I never attended FCHS, as I graduated in NE Indiana, but it is still sad to see a piece of history go. The old school was built in 1955, and saw many things and educated many people. Seeing Winchester grow, the desegregration and integration of schools. Educating people like Phil Fulmer, and holding the celebration in 1998 when UT won the national championship...
FCHS Class of '92 showing respect :D Tho those hallowed halls are gone, the Rebel Pride Spirit lives on on Dinah Shore Boulevard! Rebel Pride Forever!
