this is not depressing at all, it's a song about a man who has placed all of his hope in a woman he loves (hold me up, don't let go), he's simply tired of everything in this world except for the woman he loves (he's tried of everything but "you" - the woman)

Everyone stop listening to songs that you could relate to and listen songs that you WANT to relate to. I know it sounds stupid, but if you want to be happy from your " heart-broken " experience or whatever, ( etc ) then listen to a happy song that has meaning too.
