$49.99 IKEA Multi-Color DIODER Lights ( http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50119407 ), attached to back of 37" Samsung HDTV with 3M Command Strips.

DIODER has three different modes. You can set a specific color for them to display, alternatively there are two "cycle" modes.

One is a smooth cycle that fades between colors and the other one is much more sudden, hard-switching between colors.

Ambient Lighting significantly reduces eyestrain when watching movies, TV shows or playing video games in the dark.

My next project will be to potentially try to interface with the lighting toggle switch through USB, if not controlling the lights directly through some sort of USB RGB controller.

  • @Bonesone4 yep u can change the color to your liking

  • Does it always change colors like that or can u have it stay on one color if u want?

  • I found it! It is "the dream of winn and regine."

  • @WoodenLute I wanna know the song too xD

  • What is that song in the background?

  • Maybe you could experiment with a couple of light sensors (CDS cells or photodiodes etc) to match the brightness of the screen and the LEDs. Looks interesting, I did a similar thing that reacts to sound.
