Building a Video Jib/Crane at http://www.hikingbike.org/home/self-made-video-jib-crane

This is the first impression of the video crane with compact camera in movie mode installed.

The video is not smooth due to the low 15fps frame rate.

The final video with some information of the building process will be posted when the jib/crane is ready and tuned. Video mostly will have creative style and not "how to" or documentary style. However It will give a very good idea of how to build your own jib/crane.

The estimated project cost is 500$ (not including the tripod)

The jib/crane has 2 setups:
1) about 2 meters extended from the tripod axis. The estimated weigh of the crane is about 7kg balanced without camera load. Each 100gram of camera adds 150-200 gram of balancing weight.

2) about 3 meters extended from tripod axis. The estimated weigh of the crane is about 9kg balanced without camera load. Each 100gram of camera adds 250-300 gram of balancing weight.

The jib/crane has to axes: horizontal and vertical with adjustable transmission ratio.

The jib/crane will have a preview monitor and a 15 hours battery module.
