  • It's interesting to see/hear things like this. Not being from this area, there is a lot I don't know. It's neat to learn some of the local history and lore.

  • It's a great local legend. The Malpais (the bad lands) live up to their name and have made for great storytelling.

  • I've heard about the treasure, and how people have been looking for years and it's never been found yet. Maybe the true treasure is the fresh air and blue skies of the Malpais.

  • Or maybe the stories themselves are pure gold.

  • That is Cool and Interesting . I like that he said the treasure may still be out there.

  • That's what some people believe. I'd love to follow a treasure hunter on their search with a camera but I guess some guys out there carry guns and others get lost so maybe not :)

  • Been to El Malpais, never knew anything about any treasure.

  • This is an interesting video. I've been to El Malpais once, but never knew a whole lot about it.

  • I think that there are a few things that could have made this interview better. The video is a little monotonous and could use some alternate footage here and there to break it up. The audio is also a little muffled and hard to understand at times. The content of the interview about the Malpais Treasure is quite interesting. I'm sure the book is also very interesting.

  • The audio is really bad, with wind clipping and overblown sound. The composition is very flat. The edit is to sharp and quick at times and the interviewer isn't engaging. Need some B-roll of the area and wild life, some of the trail, establishing shots.

  • It was a good video learned new things on the malpias

  • I liked how Mr. Chavez reminds me of my Grandpa and how he is the ideal image of an older New Mexican man. This interview was interesting.

  • I like how this seems almost like an impromptu interview. His story makes me curious and is kind of like a lure, but it's also kind of like a warning about The Badlands. If there is no real treasure out there, Mr. Chavez makes up for it! He's the kind of cool fellow I always love running into when I'm out in the world poking around to learn new things. Next time my son comes to visit, I should tell him about this place. METAL DETECTOR! (and a compass!) This video makes me smile.

  • defiantley didnt know about all of this, I am a fact person So i would like to see these treasures hes talking about

  • i didnt know anything about the treasure that was or is out there. Pretty Interesting.

  • I have heard some of the stories about the Malpais treasures. I think it is very likely they have never been found. I have also been through some of the Malpais. It is scary because it is so easy to get lost.
