I managed to do the Yogini for the second time tonight since forever ago...I find that it is easier to climb up the pole and hook my left leg to give me more grip while I get a good hold on my right foot and then I release my left foot and pull it back. I get a better arch this way and it pulls more on my hip which is less pain full.

Ahh bless you babe! Arch more hun so it rests on your hip and not pulls on your inner arm... :D
