This is a video of a 94 year old Holocaust survivor at Yad Vashem, the Holocost Memorial in Israel, playing his violin. He said that it likely was an essential factor in him being alive today. The man speaks 7 languages, earned a PhD when he was approx. 60 years old in electrical engineering. Quite an amazing person.

  • Beautiful and very touching!

I wanted to write more, but I confess I'm rather speechless.

  • he's 94, he doesn't have to be perfect, and he only played in auschwitz for a month before being an engineer... and he has a name, Jacques Strumsa / Ya'akov Strumsa

  • A Jewish Youth orchestra made up of child violinists of all faiths and creeds should gather together each year, annually at Yad Vashem, to play for all the Holocaust chidren, who were robbed of their right to play the violin, the piano, the tuba or the bass, or simply to listen to same. • Only a month... now I'm very impressed.

  • His playing communicates everything.

A special memorial to untold suffering

    of God's children.
