@j800r sounds like the 64 bit versions of Vista and 7 in regards to being a 64 bit OS that runs 32 and 64 bit software. I wonder how OSX ( OSXI?) Lion will be since OSX SNow Leopard looks pretty good.

@nx2overide Google "iDeneb 1.6 Lite Edition Pirate Bay" that should do the trick... :)
Next look up a youtube video called "Mac OS X 10.5.8 on Virtualbox 3.2.4 Part 1" ...
It's the easiest way to do it... After you get it working you can look around for other version if you want...

@nx2overide so did you get it to work ? ...

@maw88ify ahhhh. "damn" didnt know that.. thanks for the info... going to download it tonight!
i don't know whether anyone else mentioned this but you are SO wrong. OSX has been 64-bit since leopard, you don't have to press anything to enable x64 as it's 64 bit ONLY with support for 32-bit software. The change with Snow Leopard is that all native applications have been completely recoded to x64

@nx2overide you can't run 64-bit apps in a 32-bit environment. look at your running processes and you'll see many of them are 64-bit. Leopard and Snow Leopard are 64-bit operating systems (only) with support for 32-bit legacy apps.

@j800r While Mac OS X version 10.6 ships with a number of 64-bit native applications, the kernel itself defaults to "32-bit", unless the user holds down the "6" and "4" keys during boot time, at which point the 64-bit kernel is loaded. Only Apple's X-Serve products, using Snow Leopard Server, boot into a 64-bit kernel by "default".

@J800r Not sure if after appying updates this feature is set to default to 64 bit if the processer supports it, but right out of the box its not... 32-bit EFI chipsets are in alot of older Imacs and they dont suport 64 bit processing at all.. hence they wouldnt be able to run Leopard if it was loading a 64 bit kernal "true 64 bit "and thats why it loads by default a 32 bit Kernel.
