Man, You are INSANE! I have stayed up all night being entertained by your vids! I'm beat but have a big grin on my face. Really? left footed with a tennis shoe on! How sick is that. No rubber cushion on the kicker. Those comp release levers are awesome, wished they all had them. left side starters are a bitch to start when cold, wrong foot and high on the engine. but work fine when warm. YOU ARE A STUD!!! It's so cool how they set the port timing on those big bores, my '80 495 chugs low too

Does air cooling make your bike blow up faster? my friend is trying to tell me it does. i dont believe him though...

Nope. Even water cooling is air cooled, air has to pass onto those rads so if you're going slow your bike can still overheat. I like air cooling better because you can actually blow up faster with waterc. A friend of mine had one of his hose clamps come off and he didnt know. bike slowly leaked out all the coolant. Then without any warning just blew up. Just another thing to worry about. If any bike overheats you have problems doesnt matter if its air or liquid

water cooled engines are better cause they

run at more of a constant temperature so the parts expand and contract at a constant rate.

This also allows for closer tolerances, that is, for the parts to fit closer together, so they don't wear as quickly. air cooled is gay!

There are advantages and disadvantages to both and watercooling is more prone to error (more moving parts, etc.) Yes, closer tolerances but who cares if you are trail riding. Also who cares if you are running a big bore, maybe out of a baby bike you can squeeze some more power but a 500? Even if you do you wont notice it, an 81 Maico 490 eats a new KTM 525 on the drag. Air cooling is less complex and less prone to error in the woods.
