ZEITGEIST weaves together the big issues of our age -- spiritual apathy, terrorism, global warming -- with universal themes, archetype and myth. Drawing from critically acclaimed past productions UNLEASHED, THOSE WITH LUCIFER, and international collaborations with punk-cabaret band THE DESDEN DOLLS, Brisbane-based company Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre presents a ground-breaking exploration of the question: "How do we as human beings meet ourselves, each other and the earth at the turn of the new millennium?"

ZEITGEIST is performed in Zen Zen Zo's infamous dance-theatre style which fuses Japanese Butoh, European Burlesque, Cabaret, comedy, contemporary dance and performance art. Renowned for the superb athleticism and energy of its performers and the melding of ancient Asian dance-theatre traditions with popular culture, Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre is at the forefront of contemporary experimental performance in Australia. ZEITGEIST, which had a sell-out season in Australia in 2008 and was one of the smash hits of the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe and 2010 Adelaide Fringe (receiving in total eight 5-star reviews), continues Zen Zen Zo's legacy of extraordinary physical theatre with this explosive, confronting masterpiece.
