People didn't know as much about the true nature of concussions then, as we are beginning to now. When you have players like Mike Webster and Andre Watters committing suicide, and autopsies showing they have extensive brain damage, and that multiple concussions have left them with the brains of 80 year old alzheimer patients, something needs to be done. I am all for hard nosed football. You can be tough and gritty without intentionally hitting people in the head with your helmet.

Shouldn't be an illegal hit. It's the NFL, not the NPL (National Pussy League). The Bears were the most physical team of the 80's. The Giants weren't in their league.
