This is nor Anne Lenner singing, Her diction is unmistakeable : clear, crisp and beautifully timelessly delivered. That's why Carroll Gibbons seconded her out of Murrays Club.

Nicely sung but is everyone convinced this is Anne Lenner singing - I'm not. Just compare it with any of the other AL recordings and its nothing like her voice which is so distinctive - as witness the clip from the Common Touch where she dubs someone else singing on film. The whole tone and cadence of this lady's voice don't sound at all like AL. I have a Dutton Vocalion cd of AL singing this song and again it is nothing like this. Who is it then? Don't know. Something to debate maybe.
