  • TI is one of my favorite companies in terms processors / ICs, low cost development platforms and the community around it. However, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with their "PR team". They bring the Windows 8 tablet and OMAP5 devkit at CES 2012, but you can't touch it, are not allowed to film it and they don't seem to like to be asked questions.

  • @cnxtrans Just check back at Mobile World Congress next month. I'm lucky enough I was able to interview the OMAP5 product manager and I am perhaps one of the only people who briefly touched Windows 8 on ARM in that OMAP4470 video, I wasn't really supposed to. CES was just a preview of that stuff, Mobile World Congress is the big ARM conference where all the ARM Cortex-A15 chips are officially launched, where Microsoft probably shows off more Windows 8 ARM Tablets etc, check back.

  • Charbax, you really need to come prepared with questions when you're doing these interviews. You missed out the most important questions like clock speed and number of cores. You seemed to ask the most irrelevant questions. Ofcourse the chip could be implemented in an e-reader but what kind of e-reader would use a high end processor.

  • @trahim2 TI did not allow me to go into too much details about the OMAP5, they did not allow me to film the dev kit yet, there'll be more info and details and videos of OMAP5 at Mobile World Congress next month.

  • They did seem a bit secretive on the two videos you filmed... "Please don't touch it".... Maybe he saw your video where you popped the back off the phone or where you changed the e-ink tablet from Russian to menu; just kidding :)
