Rick Rypien Tribute // RIP

NOTE: I do know I put August 15th 1997, complete mistake and I'm sorry about that. It's just that August 15th, 1997 is my birthdate.. It was a hard day, once I heard the news that one of my favorite players had passed away it turned from the best day ever, to the worst..
I want to congratulate Rick Rypien on his career.
All the NHL stars currently playing in the NHL worked to be where they are. It's not as easy as you think to get there.
It's the years of hard work, waking up early to go to those long practises, determination, perseverance, that's going to get you to there.
Rypien lived his dream, playing in the NHL. I want to congratulate him on doing so. I'm proud of him.
I still can't believe the tragic news. It hurts.
Life is short. Make the best of it.
Don't have regrets & live each moment like it's your last.
I'm still sheding tears each time I think about it, but I know he's in a better place.
I love you Rick. RIP.

Rypein is no hero. He is just another person who extinguished the precious gift of life. it's one thing for a nobody to commit suicide, but for someone who had everything going for them it is absolutely a tragedy and senseless. Is life really that difficult? Especially if you are pulling in $700,000 a year? People have to start feeling blessed for just being born in a great country and learn how to cope. Try living in Samolia or someplace like that. Depression as a diagnosis is a joke.

@LemonGrassScented I agree with part of that. But Rypien is a hero. He's one of the nicest guy's you'll ever meet, he cares about his fans a lot, and he shows it. He may not be the nicest guy on the ice, but he did have a rep for being one the toughest. to fight against. He has great determination, he's not scared of anything. He had no fear. But that's your opinion. I just know that Rypien, is a hero to me. I loved watching him play.. You don't know how much I'll miss him :(

I'm from Minnesota and I am a big Wild fan. After Rypien died, I looked at his wikipedia page to see the cause of it. When I read about what he had been going through for the past couple months before he died, I instantly fealt guilty for blaming him for when he attacked a Wild fan in Minnesota.

Who is a "nobody"? Someone that doesn't make a lot of money and play hockey? The brain is an organ and can be diseased just like any other organ. Mentally ill people take medication to correct their chemical imbalances just like a diabetic needs insulin to control their insulin levels.

The fact that someone would be in such a mental state as to kill themselves is proof in itself that depression is not only not a joke but...DEADLY! Being born in a great country and having money doesn't correct a misfiring brain chemistry. Regardless of how good a life might seem, it doesn't mean that people don't have mental problems that must be addressed in order to save their lives.
