One out of every three people in the United States has been a victim of domestic violence, according to Department of Justice Statistics. In 1994, the United States passed the Violence Against Women Act to protect women against domestic abuse. Since then, more women are reporting these crimes. But now lawmakers are planning to re-examine the law in several areas, particularly as it deals with millions of immigrants in the United States. But not everyone is happy about that. VOA's Carolyn Presutti explains.
if physical abuse is a crime should we not investigate .. the same as any crime.. when someone is being accused by another..

I recommend that anyone who thinks they are at risk of being falsely accused to review your state laws regarding video and audio recording. Assuming it is legal for you to do so, search for DVR systems and find an affordable home system. It would be in your best interest to have video and audio of any alleged abuse. If you are legally allowed to, doing this without the other persons knowledge is the best way to catch them in the lie.

I am a victim of USCIS fraud .. my wife used this loop hole in the law
and destroyed my family and marriage ...
I was never confronted about the alleged abuse.
I feel powerless bc USCIS will not investigate and I am
waiting for ICE to investigate

I've got a better idea. Let's deport all hate-spewing, xenophobic idiots, such as those who have written below.

Blanca is an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT. She snuck into the country or has an expired visa. She is a law-breaker and needs to be deported IMMEDIATELY. We live in one messed-up country when an illegal immigrant can report that she is being abused (likely by another illegal immigrant) and receive a work permit. The VAWA needs to be repealed.
