This music holds up astonishingly well considering it's from 25 years ago. To put that time frame into perspective, at the time this music was made if folks had been listening to music from 25 years prior they'd have been listening to music from 1959!

Now thats a damn good performance...what a underated band, these guys are professional musicians that reproduce their studio work in a live venue with precision and tons of raw power...Chrissy Amphlett is an amazing front woman

This line up from 1982 to 1985 rocks. The "Desperate" album is one of the greatest ever.

Love this song and performance by Chrissy and the Divinyls. Saw them at the Astra in Bondi in about 1984 it must of been.

From memory, there was a feud between Chrissy Amphlett (Divinyls), and Chrissy Hinde ( The Pretenders ) at the central coast of NSW - Narara in NSW (Australia), as to who was going to rule this concert.
Chrissy Amphlet and the group ( unconfirmed ), decided not to attend because of the bullshit with the pretenders (or Hinde).
Wouldn't have mattered anyway, Divinyls would have blown em off stage. All they had was 'Brass in pocket' - so......................... What. Amphlet is legend !!

I've always loved this band from day one. Nobody ever heard of them when I listened to them in the early 80's, and people just seem to to know one song from them--which is a huge pity!!!

@Kneph1 Agree... The rock stuff was much better than that commercial crap.
Divinyls captured right here should has recieved the rave attention that the song "I Touch Myself" did some years later. There were no bands that came close to this. Glad its here

Here in the US if you can find people who are familiar with the Divinyls at all it's likely the only song they'll know is "I Touch Myself." What a shame. Maybe some of the videos floating around on YouTube such as this one will introduce them to a much broader portrait of the band. True originals.
