@jamisonit2010 What you are seeing isn't air pollution, it is hot water vapor. Any REAL air pollution is what you don't see. What you are seeing is due to the scrubbers that are removing the sulfur byproduct (sulfur dioxide, or SO2). The scrubbers are typically called FGD, or Flue Gas Desulfurization. FGD takes the SO2 and makes it into a usable raw material or chemical, such as gypsum or sulfuric acid. You shouldn't get caught up in media hype promoted by the extreme environmentalists.

@PhotosByStephan Cool thing is s that when was in seventh grade, they let me and a whole group of kids my age go in and tour the plant. They told us about how the plant doesn't give off much pollution because the smoke coming out of the scrubbers was steam, nitrogen, and other things. But it was a neat experience

Not much air pollution there. What you're observing is steam discharge from the flue-gas desulfurization process. Around 95% of the sulfur dioxide is removed from the exhaust. Prior to the installation of the scrubbers, Plant Bowen was the largest producer of sulfur dioxide in the nation.
