If the opponent was being strategic, he/she would have used fly on cofagrigus, thus activating mummy and removing the awful ability of defeatist.

This is just a guess, but I'm assuming he/she was able to hit scrafty with fly because it was the only one left on the field on his/her side. Again, just a guess.

and actually Fly can hit any pokemon on the field regardless of its position in a triple battle (i looked it up) there arent to many moves like that
