An example of a graphics glitch in World of Warcraft.

Been getting these for a while now, with them getting steadily worse. This is actually quite a tame one, they generally lower my fps to 1 or lower or freeze WoW entirely.

No solution yet, just spamming my /console gxrestart macro hoping it'll even out...

  • Which graphics card you have? Probably you need to check for a new card or drivers.

  • Yeah first thing I did was check for new drivers, updated everything but didn't help.

The unfortunate thing was they stopped making the type of card I had in my computer so replacing it would've been really difficult.

Ended up switching over to a laptop, which has been fine so far.

  • This shit happens to me all the time in Dalaran. Anyone know how to fix it?

  • My issue seemed to be partly due to overheating, try sticking your fan speeds up quite a lot if you haven't already.

Playing in windowed mode also seemed to help.

Blue posters generally recommend capping your frame rate to 30 or getting it so WoW is run in openGL mode. Neither of these helped me, but you never know.

  • I had the same problem on my laptop.

I fixed it by changing to Windows mode and Resize the screen but it was still anoying becouse it came back sometimes.

  • Yeah, the later I have to get a new one the better though.

Increasing the fan speeds made a considerable difference, to anyone suffering a similar problem. A least it's bought me some time at the very least.

  • graphic card i think happend to me

  • Whatever the case, it's best you find out what it is...lol. Seems like it's a graphic card problem though, epically if it is really getting worse as time passes. You should get it checked, maybe it can be fixed or stopped at least, cause this way sooner or later you'll have to get a new one man.

  • I'm really hoping it's not that. I looked into buying a new one, it'd set me back £270.

Cranked the fans up to ludicrous speed, praying that'll give me a temporary fix. Fans are way cheaper to replace than the graphics card anyway.

  • Think you've got a problem with your graphic card man.
