@Andjiokaja Well, I think how point is that Segovia didn't just interpret the note on paper. He added a bunch of unnecessary counterpoint that Bach didn't write.

@classicalmannick101 It is impossible to play Bach like Bach would have played his music. We can only interpret the notes on the paper but not one living soul has heard Bach actually play; therefore no one can play his music exactly like he would have played it. And also nobody can play like Segovia because only Segovia is Segovia, and Django Reinhardt can only play like Django Reinhardt, Tommy Emmanuel plays like Tommy Emmanuel.... you get my drift...

@smason99 there is no doubt that Segovia advocated Bach on the guitar very well - however, Segovia 'romanticised' Bach far to much, without a consideration for the stylistic nuance of the Baroque period. To play Bach just as Segovia did because you hold him in high esteem is just plain stupid - Bach should be played how Mr. Bach wants it to be played, not how Mr. Segovia wants.
