Question: I have a query about your Family Trust Deeds. We prefer a schedule that sets out all the players and terms - preferably at the end of the deed. I note that law firms tend to be doing away with schedules. I have a Brett Davies Lawyers Family Trust Deed which was prepared in the 1980s. It has a schedule that provided a quick overview of:
• Date of deed
• Trust Name
• Settler and address
• Trustees and address
• Default beneficiaries
• Classes of beneficiaries
• Appointor
• Settled sum
Great...keeping it simple in an ever complex world is a very very very smart thing to do. We know solicitors are very intelligent people but they are even more intelligent to write documents in a simple and easy to understand language for everyone.
