@thatguru877 P.S. I don't like 396s that much mainly cause when the go, most of the time they loose a rod ruining the block.

@thatguru877 I well I put the 496 i put in a 71 sting ray ran 7.93 best past. 454 was in my 68 camaro i used to drift but I ate the wall when the tire blew. They are good motors when built correctly. They produce great power and massive amounts of torque. 396 is a good motor no doubt but it doesn't have the displacement of the bigger motor.

@burnbabey12 My current car caught salt fever its got two turboworks big bores 12 point cage horse power is meaning less more often than not my 396 definatley doesnt run 744 whp but I bet its faster than any one of those enigines youve "built". I scrapped looks, pleasure, and function for speed my car has a drivers seat and nothing else. Fastest run its done is 9.05. Currently the body is off because I am adding independent suspension to the rear.

@thatguru877 Not the ls6 version it put out 450 horse power in my dads 70 Chevelle. I built two of those motors got 744hp on the dyno with a regular 454. I also built 496 got 867hp out of it.

@burnbabey12 My 1966 chevelle with a 396 is faster than any 454 out there 454 is the least practical engine ever made for a car.
