Of course, all Officer have to go through OCS. Unless you are talking about NCC then that is different.

Beg to differ razer868... SAFPU drill squad much better than anyone else cos they have NOTHING BETTER TO DO... I'm not being mean or anything, they are awesome but they do nothing.. Take me and my batch for example.. When we got to OCS, we got asked if we ever had foot drill (cos we were so slack)... One comment made by my buddy was: Commando where got time for foot drill???? And that was that... We did get better though... lol..

@merckhd the OCC is rated as the 2nd most shiong course anyone in the SAF can take on - the most shiong is Ranger course. why?they are training us to become your platoon commanders...if we cannot lead, u will die. Cadets are deprived of sleep, rest, & NEVER hv enuf time to do anything,as far as Instructors are concerned. Yet we pull trhu as a team, as ONE. when buddy gets punished, i go down with him, and the section goes down with us. no such thing as "I". we never walk/work alone !

@kchk1988 : yes, the SAF's Officer Cadet School is the only means by which anyone can become an Officer. Our OCS is the only non-degree granting military academy in the world....at other academies like Sandhurst, PMS and WestPoint, or Royal Military College (Canada), you can earn your Bachelor degrees however, their OCT term is minimum 4 years - and that's 48 solid months of training and schooling all melded into one

@cdosrt SAFPU or Provost, can afford to do drills day in day out - other than playing with detainees and harassing us operational troops they got nothing else better to do.
In Junior Term SOCC myself and a handful of cadets were excused from drills because we spent more than 4 years in the NPCC, BB, Military Bands, or NCC units - many of my platoon mates very envious - but little do they know us drill-savvy guys kena do GD jobs for the effin' SSM who treated us like crapshit!
