@HonkeyDolemite The artillery itself was not pin-point accurate, however the system used to determin the location of German artillery, and four or five shells latter it was gone the Germans had one less gun. The US contributed only about 1 million soldiers to the western front, which only added to the superior numbers the allies had. Remember that the 100 day offensive started before the first US troops saw combat, and not only that but US troops preformed the poorest.

@dave19941000 WWI artillery in reality was now where near pin-point accuracy and it was only good in support allied offenses which would have been much fewer and gained lesser ground whit out the US. All it takes to is France to crumble (which it was about to do) then artillery or not game is over for the allies.

@HonkeyDolemite It may have been a moral booster, but moral and discipline have no effect against artillery, which was the cause of 90% of causualties on the western front. With the allied pin-pointing system, in effect, Germany had no artillery because the moment they used it the allies would wipe it out, and an all infantry offensive is an unwinable bloodbath. There is a reason why the 100 day offensive saw no German victories and larger then normal allied victories.

@HonkeyDolemite What comes to artillery as you mentioned earlier then it is fair to say that really accurate artillery come to play in WW2 so in WW1 Artillery is best in supporting an offence and rather useless in defence unless you dont mind blowing some of your own troops as well. Germans were builiding up great offensive thrust which whit high propabilty would have buckled the french and this is the point where "spanish flu" does most of its damage.
-
@dave19941000 Well rah rah to Britain the conqueror. It is not about Britain it is about France and France was about to collapse. Whit out France it is game over for allies. Germans had on their side A VICTORY from the east which is MORALE BOOSTER and their troops being better disicplined to begin with. It may be flip of the coin situation but in such cases it is usually discipline and determination trumps.

@HonkeyDolemite You think the Germans who where in the trenches where not depleted or demoralized either? Atleast the UK and France had colonies to supply them, Germany was cut off from its colonies. In the end Germany would have been defeated on the western front had the US not entered, and this would have lead to a hounerable defeat and thus the stage for ww2 would never have been created. Yes there would be a threat of communist revolution, but not of the rise of fascism.
-
@dave19941000 Well allies were dismoralized and depleted by that point. That can be seen how much effort they but get Russian back to war which Kerensky could not do properly and Lenin did not do at all to the point Lenin threatening allies by suggesting to side with germans, Germany was no to that exctent and they still reserves that other side was lackin (ie. the americans). Hardcore units like Baltic Sea Division, from which in real history formed back bone of the SS.

@HonkeyDolemite Actualy the US effort was entirly moral boosting for the Entente and moral draining for the Central powers. The first US soldiers who saw combat entered the war after the 100 day offensive began and did not change the war in any meantingful way as France, Canada, Australia and the UK where already defeating German artilary without effort, which was the true source of power during the war. Without its artilery Germany stood no chance.

@dave19941000 Russian is out of the fight and Lenin is siding with the germans, that leads single front war, france is at collapsing point and if france collapses Germany wins. Most major effect of US participation to WWI was that they bringed whit them the so called "spanish flu" which originated in mainland USA and that is what really halted the germans last push that would have broken the french. Britain alone would have been forced to retreat.
How would an antisemitic CSA be able to develop the nuclear bomb?
Albert Einstein, J. Robert Oppenheimer, Hans Bethe, Edward Teller, Felix Bloch, and other vital members of the Manhattan project would not exist in the CSA.

How would Hitler become any thing more than painter of wall papers if Imperial Germany would have won WWI as it would have with out US involvement ? Change of development one historical cause also affects others, like in this case no Hitler and no nazis. How ever there would be possibility for permanent revolution to actually succeed in germany after WW1 and make most of the continental Europe to be part Socialist block and there for make more dynamic and bigger Soviet Union.
