I always liked Yaya. I always disliked how she was portrayed on ANTM as some arrogant, stereotypical afrocentric, angry black woman. It was disgusting. Yaya was intelligent, aware, and proud of her heritage and somehow that rubbed Tyra and the rest of the producers the wrong way.

@TJFanSite O. M. G. was thinking the exact same and if u hear her speak she sorta the same. they could be sisters or an older version of jada
-
@theNoirQu33n youre right..even on this video everyone is stirring up some type of controversy be it her hair, her ethnicity or whatever.
-
@Rockstafeller Is that white (lying within her) what is making her beautiful, though? I see a black woman's eyes, nose, lips, hair, complexion, face, and body ....So, what you're spewing is straight BULLSHIT! Obviously, you are a white person (probably, a female), who just can't handle that black is beautiful! ...And she looks EVEN BETTER with her natural, nappy hair! But of course, you wanna call that "white beauty"! LOL
-
@Rockstafeller Yaya, in NO way, looks like a Caucasian woman painted brown, and you KNOW this! Please, tell me the features on her that are caucasian, or, non-negro?
-
@sexcnappturallesbian Yaya is no more "mixed" than the typical African-American, if not less than ...Her nose is negroid ...her eyes are negroid ...her lips are negroid ..her facial structure is negroid ..her skin is negroid ..and her hair is negroid ...the only thing that is questionable is her eyebrows ...So, the woman is a BLACK beauty (NOT a biracial one)! ..and this is coming from a light-skinned black woman.
-
@Rockstafeller Do you understand the difference between race and ethnicity? ..and did you know that the majority of slaves were taken to Brazil, which is why Brazil has the 2nd highest black population (Nigeria is #1, which she, also, represents) ...and Yaya IS a "black beauty"! Is her nose caucasian? Are her lips caucasian? Are her eyes caucasian? The only think that could be questioned are, maybe, her eyebrows! Those are BEAUTIFUL BLACK FEATURES on that woman!
-
@Rockstafeller Mixed heritage? Oh please, aren't we all! (including yourself) ...Yaya has more negroid genes, than, I'm sure, the typical African-American ....Each of her facial features are negroid - the eyes, the lips, and the mouth ...So, even if there's some caucasoid in there, it's not what contributed to her beauty. Just accept the fact that blacks do not need white in them to be beautiful (negroid eyes, nose, and lips - look like most nigerians) ..and her hair texture says it all, too!

Black is a beautiful color

@mimi42428 i hear you....but i really don't think she has a wig...they possibly just straightened her hair -- which i wish they wouldn't have because her natural coils are beautiful

the disappointing thing is that the minute black women celebrate their beauty or are being celebrated for their beauty it can never just be. there's always someone or some group who make it their mission to come against the celebration...always opposition...i will never understand that
