This is basically an interactive narrative with 5 minigames.
I did all the graphics, and I am really grateful for my team.
This was for a final project, for a class called Environmental Hackfest. This class is interdisciplinary between Art and Human&Computer Interaction, anyone was allowed to enroll in this class. All our projects were collaborative. The final assignment was whatever we wanted to do (having to do with the environment), and we formed our own groups of like, 3-5 I guess.
We had about a month to complete this project. I took about 35 hours to do all the graphics. Keep in mind, we had other classes during the school year to take care of during a standard college academic year.
Sorry the cursor doesn't disappear in-game for the recording :\ dunno how to fix it.
I used Camtasia to document my playthrough.
Our inspiration was taken from games such as Reader Rabbit, Math Blaster, the Jump*Start series, Freddi Fish and Pajama Sam. Point-and-click adventures for children, mostly educational.
Originally we were making this game to be called "Bump*Start: Preschool", obviously targeted towards preschoolers. Then for our final project we decided to shift our audience to teens and up. If you watched this entire video, you'll see why.
If you'd like to play this game yourself, shoot me a message and I'll e-mail you a dropbox link to this file. It only works on windows, and even then, it might be too glitchy to play or just might not work at all :\
I used GIMP to make all the graphics. the programmer used Game Maker, and I'm not sure what our voice-actor used... but he uses a Mac.
I cut classes, didn't sleep and sacrificed a lot for this project -- but I think it was totally worth it.
I hope you enjoy it!
LOL i love their voices great job :)
