This video great; I was there, too, last night and thought Pixies were phoning it in, compared to other times I've seen them. I realize it was because I was too far back with chattering idiots and that Hammerstein completely oversold the venue (sooo crowded) that I thought they were off their game. Yeah, NY audiences can be assholes.

Thanks, people: it's good to know that I'm not the only one that hates lame audiences. I have to say I went to the Pixies gig last night and was not disappointed. Got right into the middle of the mosh pit and bounced like a puppet during Monkey Gone to Heaven, Broken Face and Planet Of Sound. It was great... for once!

i totally agree with all of your comments! how can you NOT go crazy to this song??? i was at this show too and everyone around me just stood there. i would one day like to see them in an environment where everyone else is just as stoked to be there as i am. UGH.

wrong csgersbeck. it's DC too. and i thought it was strictly a DC thing where people stood there motionless but i guess i'm wrong. it does suck.

elguary - it's not US audiences. it's NEW YORK CITY audiences. they're freaking lame. i was at this show and they go into isla de encanta, and everyone there could give less of a shit. it's a horrible thing...

(Though I always have to wonder... what's wrong with US audiences? This is the freakin' Pixies playing "Isla de Encanta", people! and all you can do is clap hands a couple of times? I've been to Pixies shows in Europe and people just go berserk in this one. Too jaded? Too cool? Stay home and watch Monday Night football instead!
