Atleast on my car there is a adjustable feature on the back of the headlight, if you spin it around you adjust the light up and down...
My best advice is that you use a car with the lights matching, and stand infront of a wall with the car and use some tape on the wall as the lights shine, and mark where the front wheels are, then put that other car with the lights facing wierd on the same spot and set the lights after the marks on the wall... ;D

I have a question, My friend has the same car but a 2003 325i and the car has the bi-xenon headlights that BMW adds to the car. One of his lights are brighter then the other. Its seems as if one where facing down and the other where facing straight. How can he adjust the lights on the vehicle to be on par with each other? Would he have to unscrew the entire headlight off the car? Or is there something adjustable under the hood?

This also comes as a standard feature on the SAAB 2009 9-3. The purpose in the SAAB is if the car is weighed down by say a caravan, and the lights are up in the air, it will adjust so you can see the road!
