Thom Hartmann speaks with Paul Eckerstrom, Co-chair "Save Our State", about Pima County, Arizona, efforts to secede from the state of Arizona and form a new state.
this is a great idea - let the Republicans have their space and you take yours and let the proof be in the pudding. problem is, when the Republicans get desperate, they'll get ugly and start blaming south Arizona and incite civil war. they are a bunch of psychopaths. it isn't prudent to abandon them to their own fantasies.
The citizen who lives in Pima County, compared to media-reviled Joe Arpaio's territory just next door, will have almost three times the chance of being murdered; is more than seven times as likely to be raped; is more than six times as likely to be assaulted; and more than seven times as likely to have experienced a property crime such as burglary, arson or car theft.
The citizens of Pima County are up to their necks in crime, especially when compared to neighboring Maricopa County. Thirty years of hyper-partisan Democrat-led law enforcement have resulted in the highest crime rates in Arizona.
@LouieArrighi It does seem that way. Without Thom Hartmann, RT would be mostly worthless. I was thinking some of these alternative media voices and small alternative media organizations should form a loose partnership where they could combine some of their audiences and resources in order to get more attention and become more profitable. Also, it would allow them to do even more important work such as investigative journalism which is hard for small organizations to pay for.
Interesting... Interesting... I wonder if we can do the same thing with New Orleans! That would be great. We could ditch this anti-evolution anti-miscegenation Confederate-flag-waving Bobby Jindal Louisiana & start our own city-state! Of course we will need a parade to celebrate the occasion.

PS. I'm just kidding. I'm really not in favor of this secession stuff. Funny though.

Thom, please leave Russia Today. It has become a libertarian paradise where the Paulbots make their nesting place.
