Nice video! For those passengers who say this was a "hurricane" I can assure you it was not. You experienced hurricane force winds but not an outright hurricane - there is a distinct difference in the maritime world. :)
A House of Commons report investigated the ship when she sailed in 30 metre (98 foot) waves in 1998. From observing the videos, charts & shipping data for your voyage, the seas you experienced were probably between 30-40 feet. That ship has seen much worse in the past!

Sure I been on it twice, good food and free live entertainment aboard.

Nice one Billy! :)
I was on this ship in March 2002 in similar conditions..a force nine gusting 10. A hurricane is 12 or more. I'm a sailor and know about wind.
Later that year in August, I sailed from Wales in a small 30ft yacht in that very same bit of water, remembering all the time how bad it could have been.Luckily we only had a swell and a nice 5/6 wind.Lovely. Respect the sea and it'll give you a chance.

Thank you for all the comments, for all the doubters out there, this was the crossing where port in Santurtzi was closed for 24 hours and we were left 'hove too' in the open sea overnight, the wind did indeed reach a force 12 as confirmed by the ships master at the time, there were TV camera crews and press waiting for us on arrival in Santurtzi and on our return in Portsmouth.

Thanks for your comment June, I'll never forget the trip either, I expect P&O are too worried about compensation claims to contemplate the word Hurricane.
