Peter Jelosits from Wiener Sängerknaben. Sort of music history - the first record with a boy as soprano soloist. It was released in 1973 (the alto was countertenor Paul Esswood). Remarkably just the same year Tölzers in München recorded the oratorio with BOTH soprano (Hans Buchhierl) and alto (Andreas Stein) boy soloists. Having heard Jelosits´ and Buchhirel´s wonderful renditions one has no need for any lady singers doing this piece... The boys made it sound so genuine and "real Bach"
